Food blog

Creating a food blog has been on my bucket list since last year. I've been meaning to write or simply document my food experiences - food trip, homemade meals, coffee concoctions and specially made desserts. Yipee! This is it! Friends have been egging me to do this. I'm happy to share my passion - food.

I'd like to believe that anyone can make a delicious meal on the table as long as he/she puts his/her heart into it.  I must admit I really didn't cook much until I got married and raised a family of my own. I only knew how to bake cookies, make small pizzas and cook adobo and spaghetti & fry fish/chicken, but I could not make my husband and I to eat adobo, fried fish & spaghetti everyday nor serve cookies & pizzas for dinner on a daily basis. I had to learn how to cook the basic viands - Chicken Tinola, Pork Sinigang, Beef Nilaga, Chopsuey and Menudo; to more challenging meals - Kare-Kare, Beef Kaldereta, Chicken Relleno, Fresh Lumpia, et. al. I have to thank my late mom, for teaching me the family recipes and sharing the secrets in cooking; and the  "Let's Cook with Nora Daza's Cookbook" became really handy. I'd like to thank also the influences that I had while growing up, the Kampangpangan & Bicolano lineage and my family's constant foray in food trip. I seriously studied  the recipes, just like when I was preparing a project paper for my Masteral class then. LOL. I wanted to impress my husband, in-laws and family. I wanted to ensure that my husband will not die of hunger or of my cooking. LOL. Lastly, when I found out that I have so many allergens, I really made an effort to make everything from scratch. When you cook your own food, you know what you put it in it, (like how much salt it has). It's the first step to having healthy food on your table.

I hope to inspire people to bring back home-cooked meals in their homes even if we live in a fast-paced world. Hope you enjoy my succeeding posts as I share my food journey!
